Best Independent-Style Films
"Independent" films are those made by film makers working without major studio backing -- often known for their innovative, experimental approaches and sometimes offbeat storylines. Sometimes these films end up being large box office successes -- and sometimes studios back films with an "Independent" feel, hoping to cash in lucratively on this alternative audience base. Films selected here are either independent or have been produced with what might be considered "independent" production values.
